What I’m about to discuss here is one of the hardest tricks in the game, and even when you do everything right, it’s still possible to screw it up. The principle is similar to dodging, but much harder to execute.
This should be practiced by everyone that isn’t familiar with the tactic until you feel comfortable enough that you can do everything right in an emergency. Optimally, you should use this on all supply villages and even when you’re making a stand in case the hammer does happen to break through. Continue Reading…

We know there is the ‘In Game’ or Travian world (the server you play on) and players real geographical location on planet earth or the ‘Real’ world. Understanding this simple concept may help you optimise your chances of survival and ability to thrive in game. People all over the planet are playing at any one time, but regardless of where players are situated in real life, most tend to sleep for at least a few hours a day. This gives the Travian world regular daily cycles of activity and inactivity depending upon where the majority of players live and which server you are on. Continue Reading…

Introduction
Perhaps one of the least talked about aspects of Travian is the interaction with other players. If you spend any time playing Travian you will come across newbie’s and very experienced players. You will come across fools and idiots, people who attack before checking that your population is ten times theirs and apologise like mad before their attack comes in. I even had one player attack me, apologise and then send back all of the plundered resources by merchant plus the cost of the two troops they killed (we couldn’t work out a fair price for the rat, I figured that was a favour). You will have BIG scary players in BIG scary alliances to deal with, your immediate neighbours, allies, confederacies, non-aggression pacts, attackers, farms…it is potentially such a big part of the game and really can determine your fate. The whole point of the game Travian is to build your population and high ranks. To grow your population, you need to upgrade your resources, and you can even grow in population if you build troops.
Usually, a player will want to create another village. Having a second village is ideal when trying to grow bigger and become a stronger and more aggresive player. The recommended population should be about 300+
before you start to make a new village. You will need alot of resources for it, because the settlers cost alot. Continue Reading…

A new player will start with one choice, which civilisation to be. There are 3 options to this, Romans, Gauls or Teutons. Then the player must start to build their village by upgrading the buildings that make it grow. Resource fields are the places in which resources are made, they are wheat crop, iron mine, woodcutter and clay pits. Every player will need all of the resources to keep their village going and survive.
The other buildings needed include, warehouse (used to store resources), Market place (used for trading and buying resources) Barracks (used to build troops ready for battle) Cranny (used to hide resources in the event of a raid) Academy (used for upgrading or researching new troop types) and there are many more building that are vital for survival of the player’s village. I’d just like to make a short post and wish all the readers of this travian strategy blog a happy new years. This blog hasn’t been updated much lately, but I’ll change that over new years. Travian 3.6 seems really cool, and I’ll definitely write some articles about that soon. I’ll also get the layout of this blog changed a bit among other things. Anyways, most travian servers have peace from December 30. to January 2. so you have time to celebrate the New Year instead of feeding your troops. Happy new years!

This is not a strategy post, but it’s about a change that I think should be made to travian. Right now you can send out as many attacks as you want at the same time in travian, and to be among the top raiders of any server you have to take advantage of this. I’m usually in the top 10 plunder list on any server I play when I’m a teuton, and the way to get there is to raid hundreds of villages simultaneously. I’ve watched accounts of players that are even more extreme than me with close to 1,000 attacks outgoing and returning at the same time. Continue Reading…
