Travian global game
We know there is the ‘In Game’ or Travian world (the server you play on) and players real geographical location on planet earth or the ‘Real’ world. Understanding this simple concept may help you optimise your chances of survival and ability to thrive in game. People all over the planet are playing at any one time, but regardless of where players are situated in real life, most tend to sleep for at least a few hours a day. This gives the Travian world regular daily cycles of activity and inactivity depending upon where the majority of players live and which server you are on. Read the rest of this entry »
Limiting number of raids at the same time
This is not a strategy post, but it’s about a change that I think should be made to travian. Right now you can send out as many attacks as you want at the same time in travian, and to be among the top raiders of any server you have to take advantage of this. I’m usually in the top 10 plunder list on any server I play when I’m a teuton, and the way to get there is to raid hundreds of villages simultaneously. I’ve watched accounts of players that are even more extreme than me with close to 1,000 attacks outgoing and returning at the same time. Read the rest of this entry »
Earn free travian gold writing an article
You can possibly earn some gold by writing a quality article for this website. A lot of travian players don’t want to spend real money buying gold for the game, so I thought this might be a good way for people to earn some gold for their accounts. I don’t think the .com servers offer it at this point, but several other servers give players a referral link they can have other people sign up through so that they earn free gold. What I’ve seen is that it’s 20 gold once the player that signed up through your link reaches 75 population on a normal server, and 250 population on a speed server.
If you would like to write an article for this site, I will give you the chance to put up this referral link at the bottom of the site and give you a chance to earn gold for free this way. The article can be on any subject related to Travian, but preferably something you have decent knowledge about and that differ somewhat from what’s here already. This is no guarantee for gold at all, but if you’d enjoy sharing your travian knowledge with other you’ve got nothing to loose at least. If you’re interested you could email an article or ideas for articles to TravianStrategy@gmail.com
Difference between speed and normal server
It seems to me that everyone just assume that the speed server is 3 times faster than a normal server, and that’s about all there is to it. I haven’t actually read any guides or posts that really give some more insight into the differences between the two type of servers. It surprises me that people haven’t thought more about this, as the best strategies on a speed server for any given tribe, differs a lot from how you should play the same tribe on a normal server. I’ll give some examples here.
Farming
Isn’t farming 3 times as fast on a speed server as on a normal server? Well not really, as travel times are only twice as fast you can only make twice as many attacks on a speed server as you can on a normal one. Your tragets will still produce 3 times the amount, but if you can’t get to it all it doesn’t matter. If you run out of targets on a normal server cause of low production you could always expand your farming area. Considering crannies and how active farms you have also makes it more complex. Testing out the gauls
I’ve started a couple of servers with gauls now, as it is the tribe I have played the least, and figure it would be a good idea to get some more experience with them before writing the guide. The guide will be fairly close to the one I wrote about romans. The big difference is that phalaxes are real bad at farming, they are defence troops after all. The gauls makes up for it with their TTs though, they are awesome both at farming and at killing clubs, and they are less expensive to get than the EIs. More to come!
Welcome to this new travian strategy website. I’m happy that so many people have visited it already, but I miss getting more comments from you guys. It’s easy to leave comments both on the articles and the other posts, anything you don’t agree with or things you like/don’t like, things you think I should add and so forth.
