What is a sitter?
A sitter is someone that looks after your acount.
How do i make someone my sitter?
You go to Profile & go to Acounts and then the place where it says sitters you type in the persons IGN that you want to be you sitter. It has to be exsactly the name other wise it doesent work.
Tip: Use copy and paste on the name
What can a sitter do to my acount?
A sitter can:
* Build buildings and resorces feilds
* Build troops and troops upgrades
* Give out points to the hero (if hero has them)
* Use the NPC merchant
* Host parties in the town hall
* Send resorses away to other villages
* Send / IGM
* Read Reports
* Send MMs
A sitter can NOT:
* Spend the users gold (Apart from NPC merchants)
* Attack Poeple (S/he can only raid)
* Send catapults, rams, and cheifs/senators (Well they can but they wont do anything)
* Quit the alliance the person is in.
* Use the powers that the person may have in the alliance (Apart from MM)
* Change your profile
Can my village attack (or raid) my sitter’s village?
The rules state that you are NOT alowed to attack or raid a village that YOU are sitting, or you are not alowed to attack or raid someone that is sitting for you .
Can my village and my sitter’s village trade resourses? Is there a limit?
Yes they can. It is a 1:1 ratio for it so if i give you 1000 of something you have to give me 1000 of something.
How do i remove some from been my sitter?
You got to PROFILE > ACOUNT then see where it says the name of your sitter you click the little red cross on the side of it then that person is not you sitter any more.
If someone makes me their sitter, and i dont even look at my profile to see that they have, and i attack them, can i get in trouble for that? (of course i’ve never logged into their account cause i didnt even know i’m their sitter)
There is a rule that says if you attack or raid a sitter you can get in trouble, but this only happens if you achually go on to his or hers acount.
RULES FOR SITTING
§2.1 Sitting
Every player has a right to name two sitters who may administer the account during an owner’s absence. Sitters must play the account they are sitting to the account’s full benefit. You may not use the sitting function to attempt 24/7 playing.
Permanently sitting an account for a player that is absent for more than 2 weeks is not allowed. Foreseeable periods of absence longer than two weeks must be reported to a Multihunter before the departure of the owner.
There is no compensation for damages done by a sitter. Owners of an account are fully responsible for the actions of any sitters for their account. In the event that sitters of an account do not follow these rules and the General Terms and Conditions of Travian, both the account owner and the sitter may be punished.
The sitter of an account must sit the account using the account sitting function in game. The sitter of an account may not tend to an account by logging on with the password of the account they are sitting.
Love the advice. Thank you.

“The sitter of an account must sit the account using the account sitting function in game. The sitter of an account may not tend to an account by logging on with the password of the account they are sitting.”
So how do you use the function? I must be staring myself blind at account and profile settings, but I can’t figure it out.

Very good, concise, easy to follow. But, if I don’t already have a person from the alliance to sit for me, how do I get one?

dvv,
Hi, I don’t know whether you have found your answer yet but if not I can tell you. When you log on, instead of using your username and password, you type in the name of the person you are sitting for, then type in your own password. Travian will then log you on to their account as a sitter

I have to say that I personally know of someone (adult friend of mine in real life) who was very recently banned when a player who they had been attacking for weeks set them as their sitter without their knowledge and then complained under the friendly fire rule. My friend did not realise they were added as a sitter and never entered the acct.
Even though it will get sorted out if you are innocent you will still likely lose a minimum of a day’s play giving your farms time to train troops, and any gold in use at the time of ban will also get lost automatically (although my friend got that back when they complained).
In the end the idiot who did it was penalised by losing half popn (my friend who was affected was given option of having them banned but wanted to be able to attack them as was pretty annoyed by this stage).
My friend did get an apology. The multihunter who put the ban on obviously did not do a proper job of checking the info. They also did not give adequate replies as to what my friend was supposed to have done when asked which meant it dragged out far longer than it should have. It was sloppy on their part and malicious on the part of the player. The moderator who dealt with it in the end (not the one who placed the ban without properly checking) was much more helpful.
The best advice is find two people you sit for and fill up your sitter slots. It is the only way that you can ensure this cannot happen to you. Better safe than sorry.
To remove this problem from the game there needs to be a system put in place where a player actively accepts a sitter role – it should not be a passive automatic thing.
I am still totally amazed that the idiot who did this got away with it – should have been sorted out without ever affecting my friend at all.

A sitter can also accept the invitation to an alliance.
2 persons from one alliance can be each others sitters, but make sure the 2nd sitter is a different one for both, otherwise if you 3 are out, nobody’s there to sit any of the accounts. (No Triangles)
