Jag tror att spelare som säger använd sparsamt på guldet inte har råd själva med det .
Guld ger en ett riktigt bra försprång.

1 if you have send your resources via the market place you can NOT cancel them

2 if goods are in the marketplace on offer and not sent they can be stolen

3 haveing your resources feilds production is a bad idea

each tribe uses differnt lvls of resources eg tuton needs more wood
gual needs more clay

roman needs more iron

plus if you are upgradeing grain feilds you need more clay

if you are tuton and are upgradeing your earth wall you need zero iron and it will overflow

if you are roman and have started to make horsemen you need wood more than iron

during different times in the game you need differnet ratio of resources and production should match that

putting stuff on the market place just tells your enemys that you have an exess in sime resources and if they need it and are bigger why swap if they can take it free

finally

after playing travian for a year or so im convinced guides such as this one are misinformation designed to turn you into a productive farm

today i was looking for a trade of iron and i saw a guy had it at rip off prices 8 min from me

i looked at his profile and he had some tough comments and was only 120 populatin i was 560 population

i took his resources for free and now he is my farm

lucky for me he didnt match his resources production to his needs

personaly in the first day or two i only build iron to lvl 1 clay to lvl 3 and wood to lvl 2 i build a crannie after thast before begginers protection ends

finally pp that use their gold for resources production before they have decent production lvls are fools

25% of 100 is 25 25% of 1000 is 250

plus using it for fast uprade times is also the act of a player that is yet to realise the game take over 3 months to play

Mathematically, keeping your resource fields at the same level is efficient. You're wasting resources if you up a pad to level 10 without bringing everything else with it.

More resources than your cranny can handle and a big attack coming in NO PROBLEM. You have to be online when the attacks are coming in for this to work. You also need lots of merchants. Before the attack comes in (5-10min) go to the market and make an offer with as many resources as your merchant can carry, then send them off. The resources go with them. After the attack go to your market and cancel the offer and your resources (and merchants) are immediately back.

its an interesting sybject using gold. i personally am online always 24/7 with my sitter. so i dont like to use my gold its much better to keep gold for emergancies such as and attack and then you can sudenly cranny up. or if no emergancy comes up i make a plus acount and then upgrade loads in that time! use your pluss at the beggining of a day and then you can make 3 things or 2 things if ur tueton or gaul rather than 2/1. so gold should be used sparingly and carefully making sure you think about it before!

i think it's also prudent, on top of leveling up warehouse and granary, to level up crannies too, else when a raid party crashes your village, your resources in will just be stolen.

another addition to putting up embassy and academy, i think it's also wise to spend money first on residence so that your new village will have a decent loyalty support. you don't want all your hardwork go to waste when a chief/chieftain/senator will come and steal your new village away.

@ J.D

I believe he means that you level them up the regular way i.e using resources, then upgrade them quickly using gold. This way the game won't slow down considerably while you are leveling up every field evenly. I personally prefer the keep all four resources even in terms of production. It really comes down the personal preference, and individual play style :)

By using gold to upgrade your fields he means the "Complete construction orders and researches in this village immediately" tool. Which costs 2 gold I think. You upgrade your field, then use the tool, and then upgrade, etc etc.
