Travian tips the crop lock
I haven’t been writing here in a long time, so I thought I should just write a short post about a travian tip here now. I just got the idea since it’s just happened to me on the server I’m playing at. I’m just playing the account there solo, and recently I haven’t had much time to look after it.
Well the travian tips of today is the crop lock. It’s very annoying since you basically have to spend a lot of gold to fix your village again, and if you only have one village left and don’t have any friends to help you, you’re really in trouble.
What you do to crop lock a village is pretty easy, you just catapult away all their crop fields, as well as the mill and bakery. If it’s a large village, they will now be minues several hundre crop per hour. And without either having people send resources to them, or NPC changing resources themselves, they can’t build anything. You should also bomb their warehouse and granary when doing this, as well as the main building, so that rebuilding takes a long time without speed building, and so that they can’t get more than 800 of each resource sent to them at a time.
That’s a great idea! I have some villages in mind that need a bit of crop locking…

lol…why catapult the warehouse? …just catapult the granary, marketplace and main building.
reason:
granary-
at -1k or -3k wont make his granary 0 (they only can fill 800 at once)
marketplace-
to counter gold user. they can NPC the ress for crops (but you have to cata their granary also)
main building.
some player still able to rebuild back crops if they supply crops from nearby villages. destroying this will slowing the process. building lvl 1 cropfield within 30min will take ages to recover all the cropsfield.
and dont cata warehouse.
you will get full ress production witout any troops defending it. withour marketplace, they cant transfer those ress. enjoy to farm

If you want him to be a farm, don’t destroy the warehouse!

How to crop-lock is one thing.
What about how to recover from it if you don’t have another village/alliance to help and don’t want to use gold? I don’t want to give my attacker the satisfaction of deleting or the benefit of resources.

First off i just want to say that this is not new to me… i have been using it for over a year, but also because it happened to me
although the other way around (on a village i conquered).
Second, my views on the matter are slightly different… i only take out what is necessary. 1 – Granary; 2 – Cereal Fields; 3 – Main BuildingEverything else stays intact. This because you want the village to need as much cereal possible. 50% of nothing is still nothing so leave the mill and bakery alone.
Destroy the main building because as long as your cereal is highly negative the game won’t allow you to make any buildings. This includes even main building lvl 1. You have no idea how long it takes to start using a village conquered like that…

This is a great idea. However, when you want to turn someone into a farm, you shouldn’t destroy the ware house, only the granary because you don’t need that much crop if you farm someone. Overall this is cool.

Crop locking is effective if you want to destroy someone, but you can garuntee that you will only get three days of raiding after you have crop locked his feeder cities before he deletes.
For maximum farming effect kill his Wall, Market, Trade Office, Main building, barracks and stable ( in that order). Now his feeder is your farm and since he cannot effectively suppy his cropper his army will starve behind those walls. It usually takes them much longer to realize they are snookered and that is more time to farm him.

Hey, great idea! Thanks for that. I’m a very active Roman in Au server 3, and i really want to know how to destroy those farms that doesn’t reproduce anymore so I have space for my own villages. This helped a lot! Thanks!

same as ZeroInfinity,
I prefer like to destroy the granary instead of warehous for croplocking. Also, I don’t think it’s necessary to catas the bakery or grain mill if we can destroy all the crop fields. The bakery and grain mill will no use for no input such as the crop fields.
Destroy all of the crop fields, granary, market and main buildings. That I suggest.
anyway, good article.

I’m agree with you guys, but I suggest to destroy the residence/palace in the cleaning/clearance wave (the 1st one), so you won’t loose any cats due to the def bonus that the res/palace gives.
